Experience overseeing a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) and Trusted Software Development environments is necessary. The CPSO requires the ability to run the day to day operations of several SCIFs and closed labs and includes maintaining physical and personnel security as well as accountability of SCI material.Education and Experience: Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience. With a Bachelor Degree, 2-3 years of related security experience in the specialist role. In the absence of a formal degree considerable equivalent work experience is required. Must possess a comprehensive working knowledge of applicable requirements of the National Industrial Security Program. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program requirements. The Physical Security Systems Engineering Manager is responsible for researching and selecting technical security systems (closed circuit TV, access control, and alarm) for the company, designing and/or engineering such systems for specific applications, conducting vulnerability assessments of facilities, and developing and maintaining physical security policies, standards and guidelines. The position is also responsible for ensuring state-of-the-art physical security programs, methods and equipment by conducting research through benchmarking and evaluation of vendor-provided products and services.
This position, which reports to the Director – Corporate Security, is primarily an engineering position.
COMPETENCIES / ABILITIES
1. BS/BA in a security- or business-related discipline, or equivalent experience, is required.
2. Minimum of ten years of management-level experience in the security field is required.
3. Minimum of five years of experience in the design/engineering of technical security systems is required.
4. Minimum of five years of experience in conducting vulnerability assessments, and developing policies, standards and guidelines is required.
5. Working knowledge of CCTV, access control and alarm systems, and their application, is required, along with the ability to develop both conceptual and final designs of those systems.
6. Highly developed skills in the areas of communication (verbal and written), leadership, analysis, and planning are required.
7. Designation as a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP) is highly desirable.
8. Experience in the installation of security systems is desirable.
9. Graduate degree in a security or business-related discipline is desirable.

Applies a comprehensive knowledge of information technology security principles, practices and procedures to develop, implement, and manage the overall information system security program to support a Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO) and/or a Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO). Individual will be in a liaison role with program personnel and government customers, and be able to respond to short-notice tasks. Provide security engineering and integration services to internal and external customers. Individual must be able to troubleshoot complex, network security issues and articulate program technical information. Configure and work with encryption technology, penetration and vulnerability analysis of various security technologies, and conduct information technology security research.
