JOB SUMMARY
*Designs, debugs, and documents high-speed, high-density digital and mixed signal designs for a variety of KOR product lines. State-of-the-art A/D & D/A converters, KOR’s custom Phase Converter ASICs and the newest FPGA technology are combined to meet the requirements of KOR’s next generation of Radar Environment Simulator (RES), DRFM, and Electronic Warfare (E/W) products.
*Creates and documents hardware design solutions such as digital circuit design, firmware applications, microprocessor-based board level design, printed circuit board layout, digital signal processing, or real time embedded multiprocessor design.
*Designs, debugs and documents high-speed digital and mixed signal designs, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
*Coordinates with system, software, and RF design efforts to complete project within established timeframe and budget.
*Participates in regular design review meetings to ensure compliance with established procedures and product requirements.
*Consults with system engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, and operational and performance requirements of overall system. Provides input for documentation on new or existing programs.
*Develops and directs testing procedures, programming, and documentation.
*Coordinates installation of digital system. Works closely with quality assurance in identifying bugs and building and documenting fixes. /li/ul
QUALIFICATIONS:
*Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from four-year college or university and 5+ experience related engineering experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
*Related experience in a digital hardware design capacity in avionics, radar, communications, or EW programs is preferred.
*logic and high speed circuit design experience along with experience with circuit test/integration and product documentation is required/li/ul
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
*To perform this job successfully, an individual needs to be proficient with high-speed designs using ECL, TTL, LVDS, and CMOS logic families and programmable logic (FPGA, CPLD) using VHDL as well as experience with high speed A/D and D/A converters. Experience with schematic capture tools is also required.
*Working knowledge of VME and PCI standards, embedded microprocessors, DSP, board layout tools and analog design is a plus. Ethernet, Mil-Std 1553, RS 232/422, GUI, and Visual C++ experience a plus. Prior RADAR experience also a plus.
