Our Switch/Network Operations Technicians will tell you that they’re never bored on the job! In this role, you’ll relish the challenge of the wide variety of technical tasks you have the chance to tackle each day. You’ll maintain, operate, and troubleshoot the complex multi-vendor equipment that makes the wireless connections for the T-Mobile network run smoothly. Your technical expertise will be called into action to isolate and resolve issues from your station in the Switch and your stellar communication skills will allow you to work effectively with technicians on-site to help handle problems in the field. You’ll also team up with RF Engineers to help program the software to operate new cell sites. In addition, thanks to T-Mobile reputation for promoting from within, the best Switch Techs can often choose their paths of advancement—Tier ll support, or management, just to name a few.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Our quick-thinking and tech-savvy Switch team members are expected to:
· Conduct expert wireless network equipment installation and maintenance
· Test, locate, and repair complex equipment problems
· Handle configuration and fault management for a range of platforms including voicemail (IN), HLR (Home Location Register), VLR (Visitor Location Register), BSC (Base Station Controller), SMSC (Short Message Service Center), and IWF (Inter Working Function)
· Perform database backups and conduct maintenance of computer hardware and software
· Work with telecom vendors to meet schedules for new equipment installation
· Assist RF engineering to ensure the best possible network performance
QUALIFICATIONS
· Experience in switch operations and maintenance
· Familiarity with Nortel, Nokia, and/or Ericsson switch nodes
· GSM knowledge and/or experience (helpful)
· Equivalent of Associate’s degree in electronics technology
· Two-four years experience in wireless telecommunications
· The flexibility to work alternating shifts and weekends
· Outstanding communication skills
· A knack for grace under pressure
