The mechanical engineer is primarily responsible of the mechanical design of RF components, particularly filter, duplexer and integrated system housings and subcomponents.
Based on his (her) experience, the mechanical engineer can be responsible as a technology gate-keeper, for a product running in production or for tools or procedures in R&D.
The mechanical engineer is responsible for the following:
• Carries out the assigned project tasks according to the agreed technical, quality and economical goals,
• Develops knowledge of suppliers actual process capabilities.
• Advises RF and mechanical designers to design within these capabilities,
• Develops specifications, layouts, well-defined sketches, models or verbal instructions sufficient for detailing housings and components,
• Ensures that the work observes the current standards for documentation, drawings, parts lists, numbering systems, especially regarding versions and traceability,
• Works in close global coordination with other mechanical engineers of the same Business Units in other locations,
• Directs mechanical designers or draftsmen to make corrections, revisions, and changes to layouts as decided by the development team,
• Executes tasks and communicate issues in a timely manner,
• Investigates new processes that could be beneficial to RFS or it’s customers,
• Where required, assumes a lead role in mechanical testing and failure analysis,
• Supports the RFS sales and marketing groups in maintaining and developing customers.
• Works with the engineering and manufacturing teams to support design for manufacture and automation.

EXPERIENCE:
• Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects.

• Experience in casting, injection molding, sheet metal work and machining is preferred.
• EDUCATION: BSME or equivalent. Experience with computerized mechanical 3D CAD software.
• Experience with modeling software (FEA, Airflow simulations,…).
