Manufacturing Engineer (Req. #07-025)
Job Summary: Responsible for providing technical support to the manufacturing production lines building Traveling Wave Tube Amplifier (TWTA), Klystron Power Amplifier (KPA) and Solid State Power Amplifier (SSPA) products. Support will include specifying state of the art manufacturing processes, optimizing existing manufacturing processes, optimizing existing mechanical designs, specifying new mechanical designs, creating bills of materials for new products, generating ECOs for new and existing products, root cause analysis of production issues and implementation of corrective action.

Skills/Training Required:
Design and introduction of derivative products into production
Document mechanical design modifications to existing products.
Day to day disposition of discrepant material
Hands on troubleshooting of manufacturing issues
Creating rework instructions
Addressing Engineering change requests
Writing Engineering Change orders
Implementing lead free solder into the manufacturing process
Specifying and testing packaging material
Training operators on the operation of the vibration system
Testing new and existing products for vibration
Specifying high voltage potting materials and processes
Specifying and evaluating fan and blower assemblie.
Perform mechanical design and build production tooling
Qualifications/Competencies:
Applicant must have a strong hands-on mechanical design background
Ability to work well with production personnel
Experienced at documenting designs and processes
Experienced with packaging electronic products
Experienced with specifying crimp and solder connections
Experience with high voltage a plus
Experience with RF test and troubleshooting for HPA (high power amplifiers) is a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience and Education Required:
BSME or equivalent technical background.
A minimum of three years of mechanical design experience
Experience with Autocad and/or Solidworks a plus
